A round the valley Engadin
You probably have not heard of places like Kesch cabin, Forcola da Funtauna, Alp Flix, Septimerpass, Malojapass, Passo del Bernina, Alp Grum, Poschiavo, Val da Camp, Pass da Val Viola, Val Mora, Pass di Slingia, Val d Uina, but we guarantee you will not forget these incredible places!
Many customers have asked us how they could explore the greater central alps, so we decided to organise one of the most outstanding tours in Switzerland. Our tour starts in the Engadin valley and covers the eastern part of the central Alpine Chain. This exclusive off-road mountain bike tour takes place in the high alpine environment and crosses narrow passes and descends into fantastic gorges carved deep into the mountains. Our Tour starts in Scuol in the direction of Zernez on gravel roads. Our first major ascent on narrow trails heads toward the Kesch cabin and is followed by a grandiose downhill till Tiefencastel. Over the plateau, Alp Flix, along a dreamy but technically demanding single trail, we reach Bivio. The Septimerpass, used by ancient Romans, is an easy climb, followed by a challenging downhill. After Pontresina we bike towards the Bernina Pass and again up to the Swiss Alpine Club cabin Saoseo. Then we cross the border into Italy on a narrow smugglers path into a genius valley. In Italy, we head up to the valley Mora where we face a 15km lone trail to the village of Santa Maria. On the last day, the best trails await, with the Val d Uina with its sheer vertical cliffs. A passageway carved into a wall of rock, beginning 400m above the surface descends slowly to the base of the valley and is definitely the high light of our extraordinary mountain bike tour!
Demands This 7-day mountain bike tour is physically and mentally challenging. Designed for the experienced Mountain Biker, a moderately high level of physical fitness and mountain-biking skills are required. Each days ride covers between 35 to 60km elevations from 1000 to 1750 meters. The entire biking distance is 333km and with a 10200 meter difference in elevation.
